Applied Cybersecurity Training with Pure7: Incident Response and Digital Forensics

In collaboration with Pure7, participants explored advanced cybersecurity defense and investigation techniques through a full-day hands-on training program held at YTU Yıldız Technopark on December 13. The program focused on strengthening practical competencies in cyber defense, threat detection, and incident response by exposing students to real-world cybersecurity scenarios and professional workflows. Led by Furkan Çelik (Head of Blue Team), Onur Atalı (Senior Cyber Security Specialist), and Boğaç Kaya (Incident Responder), the training covered Threat Hunting and Digital Forensics methodologies through in-depth analyses of Windows environments. Participants were introduced to fundamental cybersecurity operations, including SOC (Security Operations Center), SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), and EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) systems. Through live attack simulations using tools such as Sysmon and Chainsaw, attendees gained practical experience in ransomware investigation, incident analysis, and digital evidence handling while developing a deeper understanding of modern cybersecurity operations.
