Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hilal Ay, faculty member at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Yıldız Technical University, has received support under the TÜBİTAK KUTUP-1001 Program for her project titled “Production, Characterization, and Heterologous Expression of Cold-Active Lipase Enzyme from Newly Isolated Bacterial Species of Horseshoe Island.”
The project aims to identify and utilize psychrophilic and psychrotolerant microorganisms capable of producing cold-active lipase enzymes, which possess significant commercial potential in diverse sectors including detergents, food, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and environmental biotechnology. By advancing the development of industrially applicable cold-active enzymes, this research contributes to sustainable biotechnological innovation and supports environmentally friendly production Technologies.
