Bioprinting and Diabetic Wound Treatment Project Supported under the TÜBİTAK ARDEB 1001 Program

A research project led by Prof. Dr. Rabia Çakır from the Department of Bioengineering, Faculty of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering, has been funded under the TÜBİTAK ARDEB 1001 Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program. The project, entitled “Bioprinting of Hydrogels Containing miRNA-Loaded Wharton’s Jelly Stem Cell Exosomes and Demonstration of Their Potential for Diabetic Wound Treatment through In Vitro and In Vivo Studies,” focuses on the development of advanced hydrogel systems for regenerative medicine applications. The research aims to design and bioprint innovative hydrogels containing stem cell-derived exosomes and microRNA-based therapeutic components for use in diabetic wound healing. Through comprehensive in vitro and in vivo investigations, the project seeks to evaluate the therapeutic effectiveness of these biomaterials and contribute to the development of next-generation regenerative treatment strategies for chronic wounds.
