Yıldız Technical University is actively expanding its Green Open Spaces (GOS) to promote a healthier campus environment and support local biodiversity. This initiative involves a combination of tree planting activities to increase canopy cover and enhance carbon absorption, the expansion of green areas across the campus to mitigate the urban heat island effect and strengthen ecological balance, as well as the continuous maintenance and protection of existing green spaces to preserve their environmental function. These efforts play a vital role in improving air quality, fostering urban biodiversity, and creating a more resilient, sustainable, and livable campus for students, staff, and the surrounding community.
