"Honoring Earthquake Victims and Promoting Resilient Cities: YTU’s Community Collaboration"

YTU participated in the Kahramanmaraş Earthquake Remembrance Program, organized in collaboration with the GEA Search and Rescue Team, Üsküdar Municipality, and AFAD. Moderated by meteorologist Bünyamin Sürmeli, the event featured expert speakers including Prof. Dr. Şükrü Ersoy and Prof. Dr. Zeynep Gül Ünal from YTU, alongside GEA Coordinator Umut Dinçşahin. The program focused on disaster preparedness, urban resilience, and sustainable reconstruction strategies, while honoring the lives lost during the 2023 earthquakes. This event exemplifies YTU’s active role in promoting community awareness, strengthening partnerships, and contributing to sustainable, disaster-resilient urban development.
