With a total budget of €5 million, the ECHO – Energy Communities Centres of Excellence: Energising Innovation Ecosystems through Energy Communities project officially commenced with a kick-off meeting held at the Davutpaşa Campus of Yıldız Technical University. Coordinated by Yıldız Technical University under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ozan Erdinç, the project aims to establish Centres of Excellence dedicated to energy communities and innovative energy services in Türkiye, Greece, and Portugal. Funded through the Horizon Europe Programme, ECHO adopts a quadruple-helix approach, bringing together academia, industry, public institutions, and civil society to strengthen energy innovation ecosystems. The project seeks to address energy poverty, promote community-based energy solutions, and support the development of resilient and sustainable energy systems through international collaboration and knowledge exchange.
