Dr. Cem Bülent Üstündağ, a faculty member of the Department of Bioengineering at Yıldız Technical University, is leading the INNOTISSUE project (Innovations in Tissue Engineering and Biomaterials Development Master’s Program for Excellence), which has been awarded funding under the Erasmus Mundus Design Measures call. Yıldız Technical University is the sole applicant and coordinator of the project.
The project aims to design a comprehensive joint master’s program in the fields of biomaterials and tissue engineering, emphasizing interdisciplinary integration, scalability, and sustainability to address the needs of an aging and growing global population. Under YTU’s coordination, the project will be carried out in collaboration with Politehnica University of Bucharest and Universitat Internacional de Catalunya. It also aims to establish a network involving public institutions, higher education providers, and industry partners to promote multi-dimensional mobility. INNOTISSUE will contribute to the enrichment of global knowledge transfer and the culture of strategic collaboration, while also considering social awareness, cultural elements, gender balance, and equal opportunity.
