International Bioacoustic Monitoring Project between Yıldız Technical University and the University of Tokyo

An international research collaboration between Yıldız Technical University (YTU) and the University of Tokyo (UTokyo) has been launched to enhance ecological awareness and advance interdisciplinary environmental research. Supported by the YTU Scientific Research Projects Coordination Unit, the project focuses on developing human–computer–biosphere interaction design models using bioacoustic data collected from bird populations inhabiting the Davutpaşa and Hongo campuses. Through the analysis of environmental soundscapes and avian acoustic signals, the project aims to contribute to biodiversity monitoring, ecological understanding, and innovative approaches to human–nature interaction. The collaboration also strengthens international scientific cooperation in the fields of environmental sustainability, digital technologies, and ecological data science.
