The YTU Lagari UAV Team achieved significant success at the TEKNOFEST Combat UAV competition organised by Baykar from 27 August to 2 September, placing 5th in the general ranking among 40 finalist teams. Thanks to the technical competency they demonstrated throughout the competition, they were deemed worthy of the 'Best AI Technology Applications Award' with their original AI model developed for autonomous locking mission. Successfully completing autonomous kamikaze, flight, take-off, and landing missions, the team both successfully represented the university in defence industry technologies and proved its engineering capability with domestic software solutions.
