OPTIFY Project (Enhancing Monitoring and Management Capacities of HEIs on Optical Networks and Optical Communication in Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan)

Dr. Ahmet Kızılay, a faculty member of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Yıldız Technical University, is the coordinator of the OPTIFY project (Enhancing Monitoring and Management Capacities of HEIs on Optical Networks and Optical Communication in Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan), which has been awarded funding under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education call. Yıldız Technical University is participating in the project as a partner institution.

Inspired by the “Digital Silk Road” initiative, OPTIFY aims to enhance the monitoring and management capacities of higher education institutions in Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan in the fields of optical networks and optical communication.

The project will develop new curricula and learning modules, aiming to strengthen the capabilities of educators while also ensuring that industry representatives gain access to the most current industrial knowledge.

This new curriculum will adopt a problem-based learning approach, allowing students to work on real-world industry challenges. In addition, OPTIFY seeks to build new bridges between academia and industry, making a significant contribution to digital transformation goals across the region.
