Participation in CERN’s Future Circular Collider (FCC) Program

Yıldız Technical University has completed its participation process in the Future Circular Collider (FCC) Program, led by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and recognized as one of the world’s most ambitious scientific initiatives. The collaboration was formally established through a protocol signed by YTU Rector Prof. Dr. Eyüp Debik and FCC Project Director Prof. Dr. Michael Benedikt. This partnership further strengthens YTU’s position within the global scientific community in the fields of particle physics, accelerator technologies, and detector systems. With a planned circumference of approximately 100 kilometers, the FCC aims to investigate some of the most fundamental questions regarding the origin and structure of the universe. Building upon its existing participation in the CMS and ALICE experiments, Yıldız Technical University continues to contribute to Türkiye’s scientific diplomacy while providing young researchers with opportunities to engage actively in the international research and innovation ecosystem.
