Poetry and Tale Club Members Visit Beşiktaş Women’s Labor Market on International Women’s Day
On International Women’s Day (March 8, 2024), members of the 1002 Poetry and Tale Club visited the Beşiktaş Women's Labor Market, an initiative coordinated by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and its Women Volunteers platform. The aim of the visit was to raise awareness about women’s labor, support local women entrepreneurs, and highlight the importance of inclusive and sustainable economic participation.
Participants explored a variety of stands showcasing handmade goods, crafts, and artisanal products, engaging directly with women producers and supporting their work. The activity served as a meaningful opportunity to observe the social and economic value of women’s contributions, particularly in informal and local economies.
