“Project Creating Value for Society” Award

The Residential-IST project, developed under the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suzi Dilara Mangan from the Faculty of Architecture at Yıldız Technical University, achieved a significant success by receiving the “Projects Creating Value for Society – Universities” Award at the Social Benefit Awards 2025, organized by Dünya Newspaper. Residential-IST is an innovative decision-support tool designed to facilitate the implementation of sustainable and energy-efficient housing designs. The platform enables users to evaluate energy performance, economic costs, and environmental impacts holistically during the early stages of the design process, helping them identify the most efficient alternatives. By supporting Türkiye’s 2053 carbon neutrality goals through scientific and evidence-based approaches, the project contributes to sustainable urban development. As an open-access, web-based platform, Residential-IST also serves as a publicly accessible resource, extending its societal impact beyond academia and professional practice.
