Research Project on the Preservation of Cultural Heritage Supported under the TÜBİTAK ARDEB 1001 Program

A research project led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayşe Erdölen from the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, has been funded under the TÜBİTAK ARDEB 1001 Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program. Entitled “Experimental, Numerical, and Uncertainty Analysis of the Structural Effects of Injection Materials Used in the Restoration of Rock-Cut Structures and Natural Formations in the Cappadocia Region,” the project investigates the performance and structural impact of injection materials employed in the conservation and restoration of Cappadocia’s unique rock-cut heritage structures and natural geological formations. The research aims to contribute to the development of scientifically validated conservation approaches for culturally significant heritage assets by integrating experimental testing, numerical modeling, and uncertainty analysis. The project supports the long-term preservation and structural sustainability of one of Türkiye’s most valuable cultural and natural heritage regions.
