SHORE Project and Ocean Literacy Initiatives under the Horizon Europe Programme

Coordinated by Yıldız Technical University and funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe Programme, the SHORE Project continues its mission of fostering awareness and responsibility toward water ecosystems among future generations. Through innovative educational and community engagement activities, the project seeks to strengthen understanding of the critical role that oceans, rivers, lakes, and other aquatic environments play in sustaining life and environmental resilience. As part of this initiative, the Ocean and Water Literacy Center established at Yıldız Technical University serves as a hub for education, outreach, and capacity-building activities related to the protection of aquatic ecosystems. By promoting scientific literacy, environmental awareness, and active participation, the center aims to empower students to become ambassadors of change and contribute to the sustainable management of water resources at both local and global scales.
