Yıldız Technical University has implemented comprehensive and sustainable transportation strategies to reduce private vehicle dependency and promote eco-friendly mobility within and around its campuses.
The M1A subway line, together with two major bus routes (41AT and 85C), provides reliable and efficient access to the university. Additionally, university-operated shuttle services facilitate the daily transportation of students and personnel between the main Metrobus line and campus facilities, significantly improving accessibility.
To enhance sustainability, electric vehicles are currently in use across several campus units for administrative and operational purposes. Furthermore, pilot trials of electric buses have been conducted as part of YTU’s efforts to integrate zero-emission vehicles into campus transportation. These initiatives reflect the university’s long-term vision to expand the use of electric and hybrid vehicles in both student and personnel shuttle services.
In 2024, the university launched a new campus transportation program designed to reduce private car use. This was achieved by increasing shuttle service frequency, introducing higher parking fees for private vehicles, and updating the campus traffic regulations and fine system, which are publicly available through the official “Campus Traffic Regulations and Fines Pocket Guide.” These measures collectively promote a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable transportation environment across the campus.
