The “Technical Universities Association”, formed to utilise the capacity of 11 technical universities across Turkey more effectively, held its inaugural meeting chaired by YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, with YTU Rector Prof. Dr. Eyüp Debik in attendance. Topics addressed included the modernisation of engineering education, curriculum alignment, increasing joint research projects, and digital transformation. This strategic alliance, encompassing approximately 225,000 students and more than 12,000 academic staff, aims to maximise inter-university knowledge sharing, strengthen industry integration, and develop qualified human resources that will contribute to Turkey's technological independence.
