As part of the 40th Ministerial Session of the COMCEC (Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation), the special panel titled “The Leading Role of Women in the Green Economy: Zero Waste Initiative” was held on 5 November 2024 in Istanbul.
The event highlighted the critical role women play in advancing sustainability, circular economy, and zero-waste practices across OIC member countries. Among the distinguished panelists was Asst. Prof. Dr. Üyesi Ayşe Kübra Tatar, who contributed insights on integrating gender-sensitive approaches into environmental innovation and waste management strategies.
The session emphasized cross-sector collaboration, inclusive green transformation, and the empowerment of women in environmental leadership, aligning with the Zero Waste Initiative.
