Three European Projects from YTU for a Sustainable Future

The projects coordinated by Prof. Dr. Afşın Yusuf Çetinkaya, a faculty member of the Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, offer technology-driven solutions addressing a wide range of sustainability challenges, from air quality management to the blue economy. UDENE The UDENE project aims to develop an applied educational module utilizing Copernicus satellite data for air quality monitoring and carbon footprint assessment. The project seeks to strengthen data-driven environmental decision-making processes and enhance sustainability literacy through innovative educational approaches. EcoWeave EDU The EcoWeave EDU project focuses on designing an innovative learning model that promotes awareness among young people regarding water footprints, sustainable consumption, and environmental responsibility. The project aims to encourage environmentally conscious behaviors and support sustainability education. ADT4Blue The ADT4Blue project pioneers digital transformation within the blue economy by developing an artificial intelligence-supported decision support platform for coastal tourism. The platform enables the monitoring and assessment of carbon and water footprints, helping stakeholders make more sustainable environmental and operational decisions.
