TÜBİTAK 1002: Innovative Antenna Technology for Bone Tumor Detection

The study entitled “Detection of Bone Tumors Using Innovative Dielectric Antennas,” involving Tarlan Mahouti, a PhD student in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, as a researcher, has been selected for funding under the TÜBİTAK 1002 Rapid Support Program. The project aims to develop a dual-band microwave antenna-based diagnostic system capable of operating at different GHz frequencies to achieve both deep tissue penetration and high-resolution imaging. The proposed technology is expected to enable the early detection of bone tumors through portable and non-invasive devices, offering a promising alternative for rapid and accessible cancer diagnostics. By combining advanced antenna design, microwave sensing, and biomedical engineering approaches, the project contributes to the development of next-generation medical diagnostic technologies.
