TÜBİTAK 1002: Innovative Wound Dressing for the Treatment of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis

The study entitled “Production of Wound Dressing Materials for the Treatment of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis by Electrospinning and Investigation of Their In Vitro Therapeutic Effects,” in which Hilal Topuz, a PhD student in the Department of Bioengineering, serves as a researcher, has been selected for funding under the TÜBİTAK 1002 Rapid Support Program. The project aims to develop innovative and biocompatible composite wound dressings using the electrospinning technique. Through controlled drug delivery mechanisms, the developed materials are expected to enhance treatment efficacy, accelerate tissue regeneration, and provide a novel therapeutic approach for the management of cutaneous leishmaniasis. The study contributes to the advancement of biomaterials, tissue engineering, and targeted drug delivery technologies in healthcare applications.
