TÜBİTAK KUTUP-1001 Support

Associate Professor Zehra Can, a faculty member in the Department of Physics, Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Yıldız Technical University, has achieved a significant accomplishment in the field of polar research. Her project entitled “Monitoring and Performance Analysis of Total Electron Content in the Ionosphere Using Low-Cost GNSS Receivers on Horseshoe Island, Antarctica”, submitted under the TÜBİTAK KUTUP-1001 Polar Research Support Program, has been selected for funding by TÜBİTAK. Representing Yıldız Technical University in the field of polar science, Associate Professor Can will conduct an innovative study focusing on the monitoring of ionospheric data and the evaluation of the performance of low-cost GNSS receivers under Antarctic conditions. The project is expected to contribute to the advancement of geospatial monitoring technologies and polar research through cost-effective scientific solutions.
