Yıldız Technical University’s Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS) organized a Data Science Panel in collaboration with the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) on December 16, 2024.
The event featured TÜİK Deputy President Assoc. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Demir, TÜİK Istanbul Regional Director Ali İhsan Yücedağ, and YTU FEAS Dean Prof. Dr. Yasin Şehitoğlu as panelists.
The panel aimed to promote data-driven research and policy development, introduce TÜİK’s institutional structure, and announce the establishment of the TÜİK-EVAM Data Laboratory within YTU.
This initiative strengthens academic–public cooperation, enhances data literacy and analytical capacity among students and researchers, and contributes to evidence-based decision-making in line with the principles of sustainable innovation and good governance.
