YTU conducts innovative research in waste-to-energy technologies through its dedicated research group focused on sustainable waste management, recycling, and resource recovery. The group develops low-cost, eco-friendly bioenergy production systems including biological, chemical, and bio-electrochemical processes that convert waste streams into valuable energy sources.
YTU researchers have participated in multiple national and international projects that explore circular economy models, life-cycle assessments, and sustainable waste-to-energy solutions. Their work contributes to the development of clean and renewable energy technologies and supports the transition toward carbon-neutral, resource-efficient production systems.
