On 6 December 2024, YTU’s Traditional Arts Club (Geleneksel Sanatlar Kulübü) launched the Calligraphy Course (Kaligrafi Kursu), offering participants the opportunity to learn and practice the refined art of traditional calligraphy. The course aimed to preserve and promote the aesthetic and cultural heritage of classical Islamic and Ottoman calligraphic traditions while encouraging artistic discipline and creative expression.
Participants were introduced to key techniques in pen control, letter formation, and composition under expert instruction. By combining art, history, and cultural identity, the workshop fostered appreciation for Türkiye’s visual arts heritage and strengthened the connection between tradition and modern academic life.
