YTU's Transparent and Needs-Based Dormitory Placement Policy

YTU applies a transparent, objective, and non-discriminatory placement policy for its student dormitories to ensure fair access to safe and affordable housing. The university uses a standardized Dormitory Admission Evaluation and Scoring Table that assesses applicants solely based on socio-economic criteria—such as household income, number of dependents, disability status (≥40%), parental loss, receipt of public social assistance, KYK grant status, and family responsibilities—without any discrimination on the basis of gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, socio-cultural background, or personal identity. Students with verified disadvantages, including those under state protection, children of martyrs and veterans, and individuals receiving AFAD disaster-relief support, are granted additional points to ensure equitable access. Conversely, asset ownership (e.g., property, workplace, vehicles) is scored negatively to maintain fairness and prioritize those with the greatest need. All declarations are verified through official, signed, stamped, or e-government QR-coded documentation. Through this structured and impartial evaluation system, YTU guarantees equal opportunity, minimizes socio-economic inequalities, and upholds inclusive housing practices.
