Yuva || Konak” (Nest || Shelter): An Artistic Exploration of Biodiversity on YTU’s Davutpaşa Campus

The exhibition “Yuva || Konak” (Nest || Shelter) presented a decade-long artistic exploration (2012–2024) by Dr. Umut Tasa, based on the observation and documentation of 40 different bird species residing on Yıldız Technical University’s Davutpaşa Campus.

Combining visual, auditory, spatial, and site-specific installations with a digital cataloguing approach, the exhibition transformed scientific observation into an artistic narrative on biodiversity and coexistence.It aimed to increase awareness about environmental sustainability, species protection, and the role of urban campuses as shared habitats for both humans and wildlife.
