A Comparative Perspective on Turkish Education Curriculums In Terms of Values Educatıon

Abstract

AbstractValues are the spiritual heritage of societies. So much so that ifthis heritage cannot be passed on to the next generations, it will havedevastating consequences for societies. One of the main courses that isrequired to pass the values to the next generations at the secondary schoollevel is the Turkish course. In the 2019Turkish Teaching Program, it is emphasized that the basis of individualbehavior is related to the qualities of the values that make up thepersonality. Our values, which constitute the basic human qualities, are thesource of the power to act in the normal flow of life and in dealing with theproblems encountered. Although the values of societies may seem universal, eachsociety and nation has unique values. In this study, the list of values in 2006and 2019 Turkish Teaching Program was examined and compared by using documentreview, which is one of the qualitative research data collection methods.Keywords: Turkish Education, Curriculum, Values Education, NationalCulture, Moral Education
