Abstract

In this paper, the dynamic models of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) and a battery bank have been developed with the aid of the experimental data obtained in a real world application which using various active and reactive load conditions. This FCPP is tested under various load conditions in order to obtain the dynamic response of the system under different loading profiles. Using the experimental results, validated models of PEMFC power plant and the battery bank have been realized and energy management strategy is applied and analyzed through the integration of these models. While experimental results are obtained using Fluke ® power analyzers and PlugPower ® FCPP system interface, simulation results are obtained using the MATLAB ® and Simulink ® software packages.
