Abstract

The title compound, C16H17NO2, was found to crystallize in the triclinic space group P1. The unit cell parameters are: a = 8.279(1)Å, b = 14.843(2)Å, c = 5.959(1)Å, α = 97.02(1)°, β = 102.75(1)°, γ = 100.52(1)°; Z = 2. The molecule is not planar. The ethoxy group is almost coplanar with the ethoxyphenyl ring, the hydroxy group and the central moiety of the molecule are almost in the hydroxyphenyl ring plane. The dihedral angle between the two planes is 65.4(1)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak intermolecular interactions of the C-H···O type.
