Abstract

Research specialists increase working on energy efficiency besides researching new energy sources because of worldwide energy crisis of late years. Reactive power compensation is one of the influential methods as facilitating of power system operations and increasing efficiency. On the other hand, recently most of applied compensation systems do not work efficiently enough and cause deterioration of voltage wave form. The disfigurement observed at the time of being started up and being cut of the capacitors by contactors. The compensation system which is supposed uses power electronics to solve the problems mentioned above. The system is simulated then experimental setup is prepared. The experimental results expose that designed system works faster also the effects on energy quality caused by compensation system is reduced.
