Abstract

Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems provide heating and cooling requirement for human health as well as optimal conditions for the quality of life. They are the essential consumer of energy in buildings. There is a growing interest in improved control of such systems and reduction of energy consumption. In addition to not providing required comfort, convenience control systems are also away keeping energy efficiency. In this paper, a fuzzy logic-based control system has been investigated for realizing a low-cost heating system for efficient energy constraints and comfortable heat distribution. The fuzzy logic approach allows to provide the appropriate temperature and comfortable heat distribution with low energy requirements. The proposed system has two temperature inputs and two outputs as heater level and vane angle. From the outputs of the system, basically heater level is controlled by considering minimum temperature and angle is controlled by considering temperature difference value read from the sensors, respectively. By using LabVIEW Fuzzy System Designer, control rules are formed and simulated. The system is implemented with an Arduino Mega based microcontroller embedded system and tested for various operating conditions. Simulations performed and the experimental results show the superiority of such controller.
