Abstract

The dipole response function of nuclear matter at finite temperature is investigated by employing a linearized Landau–Vlasov equation with pairing correlations. We calculate the giant dipole resonance strength function with and without quasiparticle collisional effects. Calculations are carried out for nuclear dipole vibrations of finite nuclei by employing the Steinwedel–Jensen model, and their results are compared with experimental results for 120 Sn.
