Abstract

In this work, a dual band multilayer reflectarray antenna designed for high-speed 5G satellite communication is presented. To reduce the mutual coupling effect between the elements in dual band structures and to provide isolation between frequency bands, a double screened frequency selective surface is used. This structure, which is designed to radiate at θ=15o in the ϕ =180o plane for both 24 and 30 GHz, consists of 50 unit cells along the diameter. The simultaneous operation of the multiband reflectarray is achieved by a single off axis feed. Three dimensional simulations are performed with a full-wave analysis tool. Directivity of 22.7 dB for 24 GHz and 28.1 dB for 30 GHz is achieved.
