Abstract

Ilkokul 4. Sinif Ogrencilerinin Uzunluk Olcumu Konusundaki Tahmin Performanslarinin Incelenmesi Investigation of Estimation Performances of Primary School 4th Grade Students about Length Measurement Subject Yrd. OZET Litetaturde tahmin etme kavrami icin matematiksel islemler yapmadan genel dusunceyi temel alarak yapilan yargilama sureci (Thompson,1979), gercek sayma ve olcme islemi olmaksizin herhangi bir seyin buyuklugu veya niceligini hizli bir sekilde bilme (Micklo, 1999), yaklasik olarak degerlendirme, oranlama, kestirme (TDK, 2017) seklinde tanimlarin mevcut oldugu gorulur. Reys (1985), tahmin becerilerinin ust duzey dusunme becerilerinden oldugunu, problem cozme ve bircok beceriyi icerdigini ve matematik programi icerisinde kullanilmasi gerektigini belirtir. Ulkemizde Milli Egitim Bakanligi tarafindan yenilenen ilkokul matematik ogretim programinda tahmin becerilerinin etkin kullanilmasina yonelik kazanimlarin var oldugu gorulur. Programda uzunluk olcme konusuna iliskin kazanimlar 1. siniftan 4.sinif duzeyine kadar her duzeyde bulunmaktadir. Uzunluk olcmede tahmin yapilmasi ile ilgili kazanimlar ise 1. ve 4. sinif duzeyindedir. Bu arastirmada ilkokul 4. sinif duzeyindeki ogrencilerin uzunluk olcumu konusundaki tahmin performanslarinin belirlenmesi amaclanmistir. Veriler Turkiye’de 2016-2017 egitim ogretim yilinda Ic Anadolu bolgesinde bulunan bir ilkokulda 4. Sinif duzeyinde ogrenim goren 52 ogrenciden toplanmistir. Arastirmada nitel arastirma yontemi kullanilmistir. Betimsel bir arastirma olan bu calismada, veriler arastirmacilarin gerekli literatur taramasindan sonra hazirladigi sorulardan olusan acik uclu bir test araciligi ile toplanmistir. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde arastirma yontemine uygun olarak icerik analizi kullanilmistir. © 2017 PESA Tum haklari saklidir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Olcme, Uzunluk olcumu, Tahmin ,Ilkoku ogrencileri, Matematik Egitimi ABSTRACT Estimation is the process of judging based on general thought, without performing mathematical operations (Thompson, 1979), quickly knows the size or quantity of anything without the actual counting and measuring process (Micklo, 1999). According to the Turkish Language Institute, the estimate is approximately estimation, rating, estimation(TDK, 2017). Reys (1985) points out that prediction skills are higher-order thinking skills, include problem solving and a lot of skill, and should be used in mathematics programs. In our country, the primary school mathematics curriculum renewed by the Ministry of National Education shows that there are learning outcome s for effective use of estimation skills. The learning outcomes  related to length measurement in the program are available at all levels from grade 1 to level 4. The gains related to the estimation of the length measurement are at the 1st and 4th grade level. In this study, it was aimed to determine the estimation performance of the students at the 4th grade of elementary school in terms of length measurement. Data In Turkey in the 2016-2017 education year, 52 students who were studying at the 4th grade level in a primary school in Central Anatolia were collected. Qualitative research method was used in the research. In this descriptive study, the data were collected through an open-ended test consisting of questions the researchers had prepared after scanning the necessary literature. In the analysis of the obtained data, content analysis was used in accordance with the research method.          © 2017 PESA All rights reserved.
