Abstract

To extend the flight endurance of a small sized fixed wing electrical unmanned aerial vehicles; 200 W polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell stack, on-board hydrogen generator from sodium borohydride, hybrid power management unit and embedded control system are developed and tested. It is proven that fuel cell-based propulsion system is able to double the cruise time. More details can be found in article number 2000879 by Betül Erdör Türk and co-workers.
