Abstract
Bu makalede on sekizinci yüzyılın meşhur şairi Sünbülzâde Vehbî’nin (ö. 1224/1809) dönemin önemli bürokratlarından Halîl Nûrî Bey’e (ö. 1213/1799) gönderdiği bugüne kadar meçhul kalmış bir mektubu ele alınmaktadır. İnşâ üslubuyla yazılmış olan bu mektubun sonunda ise Vehbî’nin dönemin meşhur şairlerinden Kânî’nin (ö. 1206/1791) ölümü üzerine yazmış olduğu bir tarih kıtası yer almaktadır. Makalede Vehbî’nin, Reisülküttap Râşid Efendi’ye (ö. 1212/1798) ulaşmasını istediği bu mektubu ile tarih kıtasını yazma amacı ve muhtemel beklentileri tartışılmaktadır. Mektup aynı zamanda tarih manzumelerinin ortaya çıkış ve dolaşıma giriş hikâyelerini yansıtan, edebî hamilik ilişkilerine ışık tutan detaylar taşımaktadır. Makalede, adı geçen isimler arasındaki meslekî ve edebî ilişkiler ağından hareketle söz konusu mektup ile tarih manzumesi tahlil edilmektedir. On the İnşâ-style Letter and Chronogram Poem Sent to Halîl Nûrî Bey by Sünbülzâde Vehbî on the Death of Kânî This article reviews a letter that remained unknown until today sent by the famous poet of the eighteenth century, Sünbülzâde Vehbî (d. 1224 / 1809), to Halîl Nûrî Bey (d. 1213 / 1799), one of the significant bureaucrats of the period. At the end of this letter, bearing the Ottoman Turkish prose style known as inşa, there is a death chronogram poem for Kânî (d. 1206 / 1791), one of the famous poets of the era, which Vehbî had penned. The article discusses the letter that Vehbî wanted to reach the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Reisülküttap) Râşid Efendi (d. 1212 / 1798), the purpose of writing the chronogram, and his possible expectations. The letter also contains details that reflect the emergence and circulation of chronogram poems and shed light on literary patronage relations. The article analyzes the mentioned letter and the chronogram poem based on the network of professional and literary relations between the above-cited names.
