Abstract
Global developments in the fields of health, economy and politics in recent years have increased the need of learning Turkish as a foreign language in order to have a career in health science.This situation has caused the activities of teaching Turkish as a foreign language to be insufficient to meet the academic and professional language needs of individuals in terms of health sciences.The aim of this study is to determine the academic and professional language needs of foreign health science prospective students who learn Turkish in order to reach the B1 language level.This research was carried out in a case study design which is one of the qualitative research methods, in order to determine students' language needs with a comprehensive, in-depth and holistic view.In this case, semi-structured interviews were conducted with twelve health science undergraduate students and five faculty members.According to the findings obtained as a result of data analysis, the Turkish curriculum of the health sciences field and teaching materials need to be prepared in order to carry out the teaching activities successfully.
