Solar Power Plant Sizing According to Feed in Tariff Sales Constraints by Considering Harmonic Losses

Abstract

Solar power plants are becoming more and more widespread as an indispensable option for a sustainable future. In order to support this expansion, governments include especially small and medium-sized producers in the system with incentive systems such as feed in tariffs. However, with the saturation of these incentive systems, this balance should be ensured both financially and in terms of energy supply with new regulations. In order to ensure this balance, some countries have introduced limitations on electricity sold to the grid. As the integration of renewable energy sources increases, solar power plants face challenges due to regulatory restrictions on electricity sales and power quality issues arising from harmonic distortions. By incorporating these technical factors alongside the economic constraints imposed by feed-in tariffs, we develop a comprehensive model to determine the optimal size of solar installations.
