Abstract
In the Social Studies Curriculum, which took effect in the year 2005, the use of quality education and training strategies was emphasized for high quality education and training, and there were some recommendations on raising children in accordance with the requirements of the modernage. Today there are many studies which draw attention to the fact that every student has a different learning styleby emphasizing the individual differences students have. In these studies the fact that many learning styles models and the indiviual`s learning show difference like fingerprints is underlined, and it is stated in many parts of this study that students have visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles. Again in this study, which was conducted using qualitative research, it was examined whether or not the materials in the 7 Grade Social Studies Textbooks, Workbooks and Teacher`s Guide Books were prepared by taking account of students` learning styles. As a result of the examination, the contents of the books mentioned were discovered to lack a planned approach towards students` learning styles. Necessary suggestions have been offered following the research.
